Man called to court for assault

A 41-year-old man is accused before the Superior Court of assault and battery charges for allegations of physical abuse of a Saipan woman last February 3, 2001.

Mr. Gregorio Tilipao Limes, a resident of Navy Hill, is being sued by the government on two counts of assault and battery and disturbing the peace.

According to court documents, Mr. Limes should be held accountable for allegedly striking, beating, wounding, or causing bodily harm to a female victim last month.

He has been summoned to court to answer to the charges on March 26, 2001, at 9am.

Meanwhile, the Superior Court has issued summons to a 44-year-old Chinese national for two counts of assault and assault with a dangerous weapon complaints.

Court records reveal that last November 2000, the suspect Kai Zong Lin from Koblerville had threatened to cause or offer to cause bodily harm to another Chinese male using a machete.

At that same occasion, the defendant reportedly attempted to physically abuse the victim. Mr. Lin has been ordered to appear in court on March 26, 2001, at 9am. (MM)
