Reports said 34-year-old Xuan Mei Hua was approached by a male suspect last Saturday, snatching from the victim the purse she carried with her. The man reportedly fled immediately after he seized the woman’s bag.
According to the Chinese woman, in an interview with police, she had tried prevent the man from running away with her possession but the largely-built suspect was too strong for her.
The woman claimed inside her purse were $250 in cash and her identification cards.
In Chalan Piao Friday, a manager of the BJ Royal Flush Poker also filed a police complaint against an employee on allegations that he stole a total of $1,500 from the poker establishment.
Police reported the suspect, 27-year-old Hu Huang, was arrested for his inability to produce the funds that he owed which he used as stakes when he played poker the night before.
The complainant claimed the suspect, employed as an attendant at the establishment, was on duty at the time he engaged in a gambling spree.
DPS also recorded Friday a theft incident at Micro Beach in Garapan where a 39-year-old Caucasian male reported missing his wind surfing gear and other items while he took a swim at the location.
The victim, self-employed as a Japanese translator, took a swim when he noticed a boy in red shirt trotting around in the vicinity.
After his swim, he went to check for his stuff but found them missing from the place he last left it.
When koban police officers responded to his complaint, an eyewitness testified that he also saw a boy around the area at the time the incident occurred.
The suspect was later found near the Hyatt Regency premises and was taken in for police questioning. The minor was arrested on charges of theft.
Another Chinese female fell prey to theft Sunday when she found her vehicle missing valuable items after she took a jog around the Garapan area.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jie Han told police she parked her car within the Hyatt grounds for a morning exercise at around 6:30am.
When she returned at around 8:30am, the victim claimed she noticed her purse and other belongings gone from the back seat of her sedan.
Ms. Han admitted she had forgotten to lock the back door to her vehicle. She suspected the perpetrator seized the items through the unlocked entry point, since police saw no signs of break in or damages on her vehicle.
