CNMI’s JROTC units get excellent rating
The CNMI JROTC comprised of nearly 650 cadets from Marianas, Tinian and Rota High Schools underwent a Formal Inspection by Active Duty personnel from their Brigade Headquarters located at Ft. Lewis, Washington last week.
Captain Mark Pratt and Sergeant First Class George Hettler inspected the units for Program Compliance and Program Administration.
Among the areas inspected were cadet staff briefings, personnel record maintenance, curriculum administration, cadet participation and attendance, public/community affairs, curriculum knowledge, supplies and equipment accountability and maintenance, training management and drill and ceremonies.
The cadets in all three high schools received the highest rating possible — Honor Unit With Distinction. In addition to being proud of their accomplishment, units receiving the excellent rating were authorized to select outstanding cadets, able to meet the prerequisites for entry into the Military Academy.
In preparation for the inspection, the cadets spent many long arduous hours to include weekends and late nights to ensure their success — approximately one month.
Many hours were spent rehearing briefing and drill and ceremonies. Many hours were also spent meticulously reviewing and updating cadet records.
