Juvenile arrested for attempted rape
A minor accused of attempted rape was taken into police custody after police caught him fleeing the residence of his alleged victim in Koblerville past midnight Tuesday.
A police officer roving the village at the time of the incident came across a 16-year-old girl, claiming the 17-year-old suspect forced entry into her house and tried to sexually abuse her.
In an interview with police, the victim said she was asleep when the boy allegedly came on top of her and started undressing her.
When she woke up the girl tried to scream and pushed him off her, police reports said.
The suspect hurriedly ran out of the window, that he earlier slipped into as a point of entry.
Before he could flee from the vicinity however, police nabbed him and brought him back to the crime scene where he was positively identified.
His arrest was based on charges of burglary, attempted rape, and minor consuming alcohol.
