A group of local teenagers were found in possession of marijuana late Monday afternoon while cooped up inside a green sedan that was parked at a disability parking space at Gold’s Gym in China Town.

The vehicle’s 17-year-old operator was discovered apparently parked in a space designated for persons with disabilities without the proper documentation to show for it.

After citing the young man for illegal parking, authorities detected six packs of beer on one of the occupant’s lap.

Police sought the passengers’ permission to search the inside of the automobile which led to the discovery of green leafy substances and small seeds.

When officers searched further, they found a wooden box filled with what appeared to be more supply of controlled substances under the minors’ possession.

Police only arrested the 17-year-old driver after confirming that the group carried marijuana.

Meanwhile, two young individuals from the island of Rota face minor consuming charges before the Superior Court for allegedly consuming alcoholic beverages last September 24 to 25, 2000.

Both defendants have been summoned to appear in court on March 2, 2001 to answer the charges. (MM)
