Another cop complains of assault
Not even law enforcement officers are spared from attacks.
For the second time this week, an officer of the law allegedly fell prey to physical assault from a young Chamorro male at the victim’s residence in Sadog Tasi.
Department of Public Safety officer Claudia Quitugua sought police assistance Wednesday morning after 20-year-old Jeremy Quitugua Sablan, her brother, pushed her while they were engaged in a heated argument.
DPS spokesperson Cecil Celes said the siblings fell into an argument when Ms. Quitugua asked the young suspect to fix their broken home furnishings which he allegedly damaged.
Mr. Sablan allegedly hurled blasphemous words against the victim, arguing that she did not have any basis to prove he was responsible for breaking the bathroom door and faucet.
When the argument began to escalate, the suspect allegedly pushed the victim and later on reportedly smashed her bedroom door.
Ms. Quitugua, who was preparing breakfast for her daughter, immediately took her child and rushed out the door to seek for police intervention.
Mr. Sablan was arrested for disturbing the peace, criminal mischief and assault and battery. (MM)
