Police suspect foul play behind a bicycle accident that severely injured a female Chinese national in Koblerville, south of the Pacific Islands Club over the weekend.

Department of Public Safety spokesperson Cecil Celes said police officers and medics found the 41-year-old victim lying on the ground bleeding heavily on the head.

The lady was immediately transported to the Commonwealth Health Center where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for her head injuries.

Authorities have discounted an auto hit and run to explain the scenario since the bicycle which the victim rode in reportedly sustained no damages.

Police said no known witnesses could attest to what really happened. Investigators attempted to interview the victim but the matter is still pending due to her current critical condition.

The case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Bureau for a deeper probe. (MM)
