After revamping his swing and refining his short game mechanics for the past two years, Bill Kaipat was determine to make a difference in year 2001.

That hard work paid off as Kaipat came out firing at the tough pin placement at Marianas Country Club last Saturday during the kick off of R.G.A. January qualifying round.

Even former club champions Ben Duenas and Joe Lizama were impress with Kaipat’s game that at the end of the qualifying round tournament they were nowhere to be considered as contenders for the January title.

Kaipat’s 39 in the front nine and 42 back nine gave him a total of 81 gross and with his double digit 12 handicaps place him a net 69 good for first place.

Close behind was Ben “Tofila” Guerrero a new member with a net score 70 followed by Joe “Kamiakaze” Camacho with a net score 71 for second and third place respectively.

For the accuracy department Bill Kaipat was the winner for hole # 3 and Jess Wabol was the closest on hole # 15. All winners were given cash prizes for their efforts. R.G.A. would like to recognize and welcome our new members for year 2001, veteran Jess Aldan, Ben Guerrero and Dwayne Stephens.
