Youth Congress readies for regular session
The Third CNMI Youth Congress convenes this Saturday for its second regular session where 22 newly-elected youth senators will assume lead roles in responding to key issues affecting CNMI’s young population.
The regular session will be held at 10:00am at the House Chamber in Capitol Hill.
In preparation for the official proceeding, Youth Speaker Angel A. Demapan has called on all youth senators to gather for a meeting on Jan. 19, Friday at 4 p.m. at the Legislature for a run-through of the items up for Saturday’s discussion.
The youth group is anticipated to develop an official stand on prevailing local issues on abortion, the proposed gun shooting resorts, and other pressing concerns.
Youth leaders serving under the 3rd Youth Congress Vice Speaker Luis John DLG. Castro, Floor Leader Ramona Concepcion, and Legislative Secretary Joaquina B. Salas.
Precinct leaders include Senators Manuel Tenorio Jr. for precinct no. 1; Eulalia S. Villagomez, and Caroline Christine P. Fitial for precinct no. 3; Dane Palacios for precinct no. 4; Jovon Churfauros for precinct no. 5, and Maryanna Mendiola for precinct no. 6.
Newly-inducted youth senators for the school level include Pedro Kakuse of Calvary Christian Academy, Joshua Blalock of Grace Christian Academy, Aileen Ada of Marianas Baptist Academy, Keoni Dlg. Ichihara and Alisa Ann Torres of Marianas High School, Colleen Macduff of Mount Carmel High School, incumbent youth senator Frances Somorang of Northern Marianas Academy, Margaret Ashlee Tenorio, Absinthe Algaier, and Carmen Sablan of Northern Marianas College, Jeannette Sablan of Tinian High School, and Tanya M.
