A group of churches, organizations and individuals have established themselves in the CNMI to speak out for the unborn.

Resulting from the recent allegations of abortion-related activities here, the group who called themselves Christians for Life, have taken a united stand to protect and preserve the sanctity of life.

Comprised of the Archdiocese of Chalan Kanoa, Grace Christian Ministries, Saipan Evangelical Holiness Church, New Covenant Life Church, Jesus is Lord Church, First Filipino Methodist Church, Korean Full Gospel Church, Cornerstone Christian Church, and KSAI, the organization is currently hosting activities for January in honor of “Celebration of Life” Month.

The gospel for the month are slated to bring community awareness to the plight of the unborn; affirm the value of Article I, Section 12 of the CNMI Constitution, and provide alternative solutions to crisis pregnancy.

The airing of several videotapes produced for the purpose of increasing community awareness began on Marianas Cable Vision on January 9th and will continue until the end of the month.

Radio interviews have begun with guest speakers representing the clergy, women, youth, social workers, with the added goal to include those from the medical and legal field.

A prayer vigil is planned for January 21st at 6pm at American memorial Park to gather all concerned citizens to pray for the unborn and for those going through crisis pregnancy situations and their families. A march for life is scheduled for January 22, beginning at 6pm from American Memorial Park to the DFS Galleria and back to the park where the celebration of life rally will take place.

Families, Churches, Schools, Organizations, and individuals have been invited to celebrate life as a community during these events. Interest to participate should be referred to Grace Christian Ministries at 322-3320 or the Archdiocese of Chalan Kanoa at 234-3000.
