The need for a magnet school

Within a year Saipan will have three high schools–one at its present site, MHS, another in Kagman, and a third in Koblerville. This will greatly alleviate the overcrowding at MHS which currently has an enrollment of about 1852 students. As a result, each school will be able to accommodate about six hundred students.

With three high schools in session, we should consider utilizing one of them as a magnet school for students with special talents or skills. The magnet school concept has become increasingly popular and functional in the mainland.
