The 17-year-old local boy who allegedly raped a private school teacher was formally charged yesterday before the Superior Court by the Attorney General’s Office.

Superior Court Associate Judge Timothy H. Bellas has set a $50,000 cash bail for the temporary release of the suspect, who was also held for burglary, assault with a dangerous weapon and criminal oral copulation.

Police said the AGO will ask the court that the suspect, identified only as E.P.M., be tried as an adult for the alleged crime.

According to police, the suspect broke into the Tanapag residence of the 25-year-old teacher in the early morning of Dec. 16, 2000. The victim tried to fight back but the suspect, armed with a knife, prevailed.

Police said the teacher noted the tattoo on the arms of the suspect and was identified by the victim in a police lineup.
