Police arrested two Filipinos suspected to be responsible for the Oct. 9 robbery of a Japanese national in Chalan Kiya as two more suspects are being hunted by members of the Criminal Investigation Section.

Superior Court Presiding Judge Joaquin Manibusan has set a $31,000 cash bail for Victor Santa Monica, while Allan Rodeo was released on third party custody.

According to police record, the armed robbers entered the house of Junko Sakai while she was sleeping at around 2:00 p.m. The robbers ransacked her house and carted away with several pieces of jewelry and $15,000 in cash. A Toyota 4Runner owned by Ms. Sakai was also taken but recovered by the police later on the same day.

Ms. Sakai, 51, was gagged and her hands were tied by the suspects.
