Police probes weekend death in Chalan Piao

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Craig W. Quitugua, 25, over the weekend who was believed to have committed suicide in his apartment.

Police found Mr. Quitugua still hanging with a leather belt tied around his neck.

Department of Public Safety Information Officer Rose Ada said the police received a call last Sunday at around 10:18 a.m. asking for help to open the apartment at Joeten Chalan Piao Plaza where Mr. Quitugua was staying.

Mr. Quitugua was last seen alive by his girlfriend after they had an argument Saturday. She then decided to sleep in her mother’s house when she could not enter the place.

The following day, she went to the apartment again with her sister but still could not open the door. Worried that something must have happened to Mr. Quitugua, the girlfriend called up the police to help them open the apartment.
