Police filed charged of assault and battery and aggravated assault and battery against Kwang Jo Kim for allegedly pushing his friend Kang Soon Park from the second floor of Royal Condominium in Garapan.
According to a complaint filed by Detective Mark S. Taisacan, police received a call on Oct. 6, 2000 at 11:15 pm seeking assistance because a man later on identified as Park, Kang Soon, fell from the building.
Mr. Kim claimed that Mr. Park, who was drunk at that time, knocked on his door and insisted on talking to him saying he wanted to jump to Banzai Cliff.
Later on, when Mr. Park went out of the room, Mr. Kim said he just heard a noise which sounded like somebody fell from the second floor.
But witness Ke Shi Cheng later on told the police that they heard shouting and fighting inside room 201, just above his room. When he looked up, Mr. Cheng said he saw a male wearing a white T-shirt leaning on his back against the railing of the 2nd floor balcony infront of room 201. He also saw a person’s hand on the victim’s chest while people were still shouting. The next thing he knew, Mr. Cheng said the man suddenly fell from the second floor, his face first hitting the ground.
