BOE’s upgrade of system continues
The Board of Elections continues efforts to maintain and improve elections and election activities, including voter registration and registration data. Its latest project includes improvements to voter registration and voter registration data so as to streamline process.
To accomplish this, it was necessary to create a new voter registration module at the Department of Finance’s main computer system. This is just about complete. Following this, there will be a need to transfer voter registration from the present module to the new one. This requires that registration affidavits will be individually transferred. All 14,334 of them.
During this period, the general public’s patience. Those requesting for certification of registration data for compliance with their application for United States passport will have to wait until mid-November before their requests are addressed.
At the completion of this transfer, every voter will have a new voter number which will be a number that remains unchanged during the entire voting life of the eligible voter. Because of this, BOE is asking that registered voters who desire a voter registration card also wait until mid-November before obtaining a replacement card.
While it may take a little more time during this transition period, BOE continues to register voters as they come into the agency’s office.
