7-year-old dies in Dandan fire

A seven-year-old girl died in an early morning fire that hit the family’s home in Dandan village, according to a police report.

Police received a call at around 12:27 a.m. reporting about a burning house near Flora’s Store in Dandan. DPS spokesperson Rose Ada said firefighters who responded to the scene saw the house already engulfed in heavy flames and smoke.

A headcount on the members of the family later on discovered that the seven-year-old girl was missing.
Firefighters searched the area and discovered the burned body of the victim.
DPS is still investigating the incident.
This is the 11th fire incident that has occurred in Saipan this year that left four people dead.
