Police are looking at arson as the possible cause of the structure fire late Friday afternoon that resulted in the death of Muntur Rahman, a Bangladeshi national.

Police spokesperson Rose Ada said the badly burned body of Mr. Rahman was found inside the Chalan Kanoa house where he works as security guard.

Investigation showed that Mr. Rahman even told the two kids who were inside the house to get out as he planned to set the place on fire.
He was even heard and seen to have broken the house’s windows as soon as the children ran out to a nearby store for safety.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted to determine Mr. Rahman’s involvement in the fire.

The Bangladeshi national has been worrying about his pending case with the CNMI Immigration as he is scheduled to leave Saipan this Saturday.
