Police are investigating the death of a new born baby Sunday night which allegedly fell into a muddy pit in San Roque when the mother gave birth prematurely.

According to sketchy police reports, the baby’s mother, Joan Ngirorais, gave birth while she was in the outhouse of her San Roque residence.

Her relatives told the police that they rushed to the outhouse after they heard the baby cried. They even had to tear down the structure’s walls to reach Ms. Ngirorais and her child.

The mother’s relatives tried to save the baby, who was found covered with mud and feces, but it was too late.

The police immediately brought the baby to the Commonwealth Health Center where it was pronounced dead.
