Police have launched a massive manhunt for the arrest of convicted felons Jesse James B. Camacho, 20, and Kurt M. Taisacan, 22, — two of the three inmates who bolted out of prison at around 9:40 p.m. Sunday.

The third escapee, Luis Deleon Guerrero Camacho, 51, was apprehended by the police in Finasisu, four hours after he fled the prison.

Maj. Clyde Norita asked the public to take precautionary measures as the escapees are considered armed and dangerous.

He said DPS has also provided security to the victims and their families, regularly checking on them while the convicts are on the loose.

The Department of Public Safety has mobilized the Tactical Response Enforcement Team and the Criminal Investigation Division to recapture the inmates as soon as possible time.

DPS officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the escape of the prisoners, the fourth since 1998, and Mr. Norita said prison guards who will be found to have neglected their duties will be punished accordingly.

“We need to look at the overall picture of the escape, could it be just facility deficiency or negligence. We don’t know at this time,” he said.

Mr. Camacho was wearing black shorts without any shirt when he was last seen in prison. Mr. Taisacan was wearing long purple baseball type pants with gray t-shirt. He has tattoos on his neck and on both arms. Both men are sporting shaved heads.

Initial investigation showed that the three men were able to escape after breaking the padlock of the east gate of the corrections facility in Susupe.

Mr. Camacho is serving a 45-year sentence for masterminding the killing of 13-year-old Antonio Sablan Jr. The victim was stabbed 37 times in their house in Dandan as part of the initiation rites for membership into the so-called Red Rum gang. Mr. Taisacan was convicted of burglary and receiving stolen property.

Mr. Deleon Guererro Camacho was sentenced in October 1998 to 20 years in prison with no eligibility for parole after he pled guilty to charges of kidnapping, sexual abuse of a child and criminal oral copulation.

The victims, two girls and one boy whose ages range from 3 to 6, were playing in front of their house when Mr. Deleon Guerrero Camacho called them into the vehicle and drove away. He brought the children to a certain place where he sexually abused the two girls while the young boy watched the whole incident.

Mr. Deleon Guerrero Camacho had earlier escaped the corrections facility in February 1999.

DPS Information Officer Rose Ada has asked the public to call 911 immediately for any information on the whereabouts of the two escapees.
