Criminal charges filed against police officer

The Attorney General’s Office has filed theft and burglary charges against Police Officer Edwin Santos Aguon.

Based on the complaint, Mr. Aguon, 24, illegally entered Rudolpho’s Restaurant between Oct. 28 and Nov. 7, 1999 and took cooking utensils, chairs, tables, food pans, meat grinder, computer monitor, printer, keyboard and other restaurant equipment.

Chief Criminal Prosecutor Kevin Lynch said if convicted, Mr. Aguon could face penalties of up to five years imprisonment for burglary and five years for theft plus fines.

Mr. Aguon has been released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
