It would have been an ordinary police story, except that the man who complained was Superior Court Judge Juan Lizama.

Katyama N. Choi was arrested by police after Judge Lizama called up 911 to report that his former girlfriend was at his San Vicente residence shouting early Wednesday morning.

A police report said the incident happened between 4:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., but it did not provide details why the Korean woman created a scene at that time. Ms. Choi allegedly kicked police officer Norman Suda and tried to bit him when he tried to arrest her. She even tried to run toward Judge Lizama as the policeman attempted to handcuff her.

Charges of assault and battery, disturbing the peace and obstructing justice were filed against the Korean woman.

Ms. Choi appeared at the Superior Court yesterday for a bail hearing. Bail was set at $3,000.

Her travel documents were confiscated and she was ordered to stay away from the judge.
