Marpac lost $388,000

Police are investigating the missing merchandise at Marianas Pacific Distributor Inc. amounting to $388,000.

The stocks were discovered missing during an annual inventory conducted by the company, investigators said.

The management only reported the incident to DPS yesterday morning.

Poker game room robbed

Two men carted away with $3,000 after robbing the Dollar Poker Game Room in San Antonio yesterday morning, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Rose Ada, DPS public information officer, said based on the investigation the unidentified male suspects walked in to the game room at around 2:00 a.m. while its cashier, a Filipino woman, was cleaning the place.

The suspects tied the victim and kept her inside the restroom.

Investigation showed that the cashier was only freed when a customer walked in and heard a sound coming from the restroom.

Police are asking the people who passed by the area at around 6:45 am to 8:00 am to give them information on what they saw during that time. They can call DPS at 6649042 or the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 2347272.

Student hit by a truck

A 15-year-old girl who was about to board a school bus was hit by a pickup truck at around 6:45 am yesterday in As Lito near Hollywood Video, police said.

Thirty-nine-year-old Jin Can Zheng was immediately arrested for reckless driving. The Public School System school bus was picking up students in that area when a 1998 Nissan pickup truck hit the victim. The vehicle was headed South but it did not even stop even when the bus’ stop sign was flashed.

The girl suffered head injuries and is now in serious condition at the Commonwealth Health Center.

The Superior Court told Jin to pay $2,000 bail.

Rebate check found

An envelop containing a rebate check and $100 bill was found at Uncle Joe’s Market in Dandan.

The police said the envelop was turned to DPS yesterday.

DPS is asking Pablito M. Rodelis to bring identification cards to claim his check at the police station.
