Eligible voters in the CNMI whose names are not yet on the voters’ list have until today to register for the Nov. 6 elections, the Board of Elections announced yesterday.

Greg Sablan, BOE executive director, said the board offices on Saipan, Tinian and Rota would be open until 4:30 p.m. to facilitate the registration.

“Usually, some people come at the last minute, but we have enough staff to take care of the registration,” Sablan said.

As of Oct. 4, the board has recorded a total of 14,077 eligible voters from all election districts.

The political exercise involved elections for senators, House members, municipal councilors and Board of Education members.

The elections board also reminded the public that a ban on the sale and purchase of alcoholic drinks will be imposed on election day.

The liquor ban will be effective from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 6. (MCM)
