Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio said yesterday he is confident his GOP partymates will win over other opponents in the Nov. 6 midterm elections for the Senate and the House of Representatives.

“I have confidence that our people now are more mature. They will vote for individuals whom they think really want to help the community,” said the governor when sought for comments on the chances of Republican candidates.

But he did not rule out the possibility of opposition candidates upsetting the anticipated landslide victory by the GOP. Three Senate seats and 18 House seats are up in next month’s polls.

“Everybody has a chance. I always campaign and every time I go out to campaign, I ask the people for their support and if they have confidence in me, then they vote for me,” Tenorio said.

He called on the people to exercise their right to vote on the future leaders of the island. “I encourage the people to go out and vote on Nov. 6. Vote on their choice whom they think will best serve the community and want to help the people,” added the governor. (BS)
