Teno backs DOF
While trying to avoid conflict with the Legislature, Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio yesterday backed his finance officials over the wrangling on the use of funds allotted to each legislator.
He said the House and the Senate must comply with the requirements when they need to draw down their accounts from the Department of Finance, such as filing their travel vouchers.
“We don’t want to interfere with the Legislature. We believe in the separation of power. But there’s a requirement (to follow),” Tenorio told reporters when asked to comment on the growing dispute.
“Once the travel is complete, they have to submit the voucher so that particular (account) will be closed. They should comply with the requirements. Everybody has to,” added Tenorio.

According to the governor, even him has to submit all documents, like itinerary of his travel, to DOF after returning from official off-island trips.
“If I owe something or if they don’t use the advance, (I have and) they have to return the money,” he added.
