Budweiser received first place accolades from the Guam Marketing Association for it’s “Quality” radio campaign, which was comprised of commercials focusing on freshness, born on dating and controlled temperature warehousing.

The creative and memorable Budweiser “Quality” radio campaign was created by David & Usita DDB, an affiliate of one of the leading international marketing and advertising agencies in the world.

United States-based Anheuser-Busch and its flagship brand Budweiser have drawn worldwide attention over the years for the beer brand’s continued creative and unforgettable advertising spots. The “King of Beers” is synonymous with fun and entertainment for its consumers worldwide.

“Budweiser is honored to have had it’s ‘Quality’ radio campaign recognized at the first-ever Guam Marketing Association Awards,” said Lee Babb, Pacific Region sales manager, Anheuser-Busch International, Inc. “The award is reflective of the company’s global marketing and advertising efforts, and was possible as a result of great teamwork between David & Usita DDB and Budweiser.”

The campaign, which reinforces Budweiser’s commitment to distributing the world’s best-tasting, premium-quality beer, beat out six other nominees.

Amongst the winners of the 19 various advertising and marketing award categories, the Retail class was one of the most coveted awards handed out by the Guam Marketing Association. The “Quality” radio campaign involved four separate spots. “Gus-Guam Warehouse,” a 60-second spot written by David & Usita and produced by DDB Chicago, was the focal point of the “Quality” program.

Three additional 30-second spots written and produced by David & Usita locally supplemented the “Gus-Guam Warehouse” commercial. “Born on Radio – Star Trek,” “Fresh Beer Radio – Speed” and “Warehouse Radio – Horror” are humorous spots with a message on the quality of Budweiser. All four ads hit the airwaves in early 1998 and are still running in Guam.

“Working with DDB and Budweiser has been the opportunity of a lifetime,” said Eduardo David, president, David & Usita DDB. “it is such a privilege to have a cutting edge client, such as Budweiser, who allows us to maximize our creative abilities.”

The “Quality” radio campaign was also considered by DDB’s worldwide partners as one of the best DDB creatives in 1998. The “Gus-Guam Warehouse” spot was a winner of a Pinnacle Award for Creative Excellence, an international DDB corporate citation.

The Guam Marketing Association, founded in 1998, is a distinguished group of marketing and communication professionals seeking to develop the disciplines in Guam. The Guam Marketing Awards will be an annual event to reward excellence in marketing and advertising.

In 1949, Budweiser was introduced in Guam. Budweiser, the best-selling beer in the world, is sold in more than 80 countries worldwide through its partnerships with international brewers or through independent distributors. Budweiser is brewed by Anheuser-Busch, the world’s largest brewer, and distributed in Guam by Ambros, Inc. Ambros is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.
