PIA’s world ranking dropped to 89th

The Pacific Island Aviation Inc., has been ranked 89th in the world Regional Airline passenger traffic, according to the May 1999 issue of Airline Business magazine.

The data was compiled by a company from UK and compares passenger statistics from all regional airlines throughout the world. Based on the report, PIA carried 168,000 passengers in 1998 with an average load factors of 76 percent. It also reported a 9.9 percent increase of passengers from 1997. However, even with the increase in passengers, PIA’s world ranking dropped to 89th from 87th in 1997.

PIA is also in the top 40 of US regional airlines.
