7th Women’s Summit on Sept. 24
The 7th Annual Women’s Summit will take place on Sept. 24, 2020, from 8am to 5pm. The summit is co-sponsored by the CNMI Women’s Association and the Women’s Affairs Office under the Governor’s Office, in collaboration with community partners from both the public and private sectors. This year’s theme is “Continuing to Rise: Women Leading Sustainable Development.” Organizers have enlisted panelists from the community to speak about various topics of relevance to sustainable development.
This virtual summit is part of our 2020 CNMI Women’s Month Celebration, which was held in March 2020. It was originally scheduled for March 27, 2020; however, it had to be postponed because of the pandemic.
The panel discussions planned for this year will focus on Disaster Recovery, Economic Growth and Development, Health, and Military Buildup. Through these presentations and discussions, we hope for a better understanding of how the CNMI’s women are leading sustainable development on our islands across the various sectors. Furthermore, through the sharing of knowledge in this summit, organizers hope to impart information that would benefit our rising female leaders on how they too can lead the sustainable development of our island nation successfully.
