Over $700K is re-appropriated for Tinian

Gov. Ralph DLG Torres signed a local law last week that re-appropriates $799,558 to fund the operations and programs in the Second Senatorial District.

The Tinian and Aguiguan Legislative Delegation passed House Local Bill 20-2, S1 last month and it is now Tinian Local Law 20-1.

The money is re-appropriated for the use of the Mayor’s Office of the Municipality of Tinian and Aguiguan to fund its daily operations and public programs as well as for personnel and operations of the Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission.

The money will be transferred to an account set by the Tinian Municipal Treasurer, who will then control the distribution of the re-appropriated funds.

The regulation is set in place so that spending activity would be in line with TLL 20-1 and remains within the CNMI or municipality’s fiscal management policies.

The appropriated money is without fiscal year limitations.
