Seven longtime volunteers where voted as new board members of the Saipan Little League Baseball Inc. (SLLBI).

SLLBI members voted Annie Flores, Ben Jones, Climaco Laniyo, AJ Murig, Malcolm Omar, Manny Tenorio, and Piding Tenorio to the board during their meeting last week. The seven-member board will then choose among themselves who will be the next president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, player agent, safety officer and chief statistician. Flores said they will meet tonight at 6pm at the pavilion inside the Oleai Sports Complex to select the officers of the board. Once the new set of officers is elected, the board will prepare for the 2015-2016 Little League season that is set to start in January.

Tony Rogolifoi is the outgoing SLLBI president and decided not to seek re-election as he is busy with his new role as executive director of the Northern Marianas Sports Association. NMSA is now tasked to maintain the facilities inside the Oleai Sports Complex. He said the new board would continue to develop and improve the local youth baseball program. (Jon Perez)
