670 Babes bounced back from their loss last week by edging Tokahao Ladies, 12-9, in the women’s division of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.

Edilynn Benjamin and her five RBIs was the star of the show as she went two of four at bats, hitting and scoring a run in the third inning and hitting a triple in the sixth inning.

On the defensive side, 670 Babes’ pitcher conquered the mound, striking out eight of Tokahao’s batters which resulted in four scoreless innings. Only one home run was made by Rayna Deleon Guerrero in the top of the second inning, which caused a six-run rally by the Tokahao Ladies, but their efforts fell short as their momentum died down. The Tokahao Ladies were only able to produce three more runs in the sixth inning.

670 Babes took advantage of the Tokahao Ladies’ scoreless innings and produced runs in all the innings except three. Cat Dela Cruz, Semerina Simram, Momo Halstead, Julie Palacios, Jen Palacios, Christine Arriola, and Gloria Rigolifoi all contributed one RBI each.

However, Tokahao Ladies’ pitcher put up a good fight as well, striking out six 670 Babes batters, but it wasn’t enough to discourage their lineup from putting up two runs in the first inning, five runs in the third inning, two runs in the fifth inning, and three runs in the sixth inning.

Tiah Camacho, Lizan Deleon Guerrero, Cat Dela Cruz, Nish Cabrera, Edilynn Benjamin, Semerina Simram, Momo Halstead, Julie Palacios, Almina Deleon Guerrero, Christine Arriola, Jen Palacios, Selmalyn Taitano, and Gloria Palacios made up the winning lineup for the 670 Babes.

This game brought 670 Babes to 2-3 in the standings, while Tokahao Ladies went a peg down at 1-4, with both teams at the bottom of the leaderboard out of six teams.
