64 join Kensington golf tournament

Sixty-four competed in the Kensington Hotel Saipan 1st Anniversary Golf Tournament held at Coral Ocean Point Golf and Resort last Saturday.

Korean celebrities Su Ro Kim, Sung Jin Kang, Hyung Jun Lim, and Ki Yeoul Kim, Kensington’s patrons, guests, and business partners, and local golfers were among the participants in the double-peoria tournament that was one of the activities on the day the hotel celebrated a milestone.

The hotel’s guest Myung Sun Choi went on to top the 64-player field to take home the championship trophy and win a three-night stay at Kensington. Joining Choi in the Top 3 were Sung Jin Kang and Su Ro Kim, who are both familiar figures in Korean television series and movies. Kang also went home with a trophy and two roundtrip tickets from EasterJet, while Kim got the third place trophy plus a Xxio No.1 driver.

Besides the Top 3 finishers, Kensington also handed prizes to the golfers with the nearest to the pin shots on No. 7 and No. 14. Saipan’s Jose Itibus made the nearest to the pin shot on the par-4, 380-yard No. 7 to earn a two-night stay gift certificate from Coral Ocean Point Golf and Resort with breakfast for four people and a two-round golf certificate for four.

In the par 4, 434-yard No. 14, the nearest to the pin winner was Triple J Wholesale’s Jay Santos, who was awarded with a two-night stay certificate at Pacific Islands Club Saipan.

Five more special recognitions were given at the conclusion of the tournament with Tae Sun Kang and Rafael Demapan getting the Best Dress and Unique Dress awards, Harrison Jo and Seung Yeon Jo taking the Best Pose for men and women, respectively, and Glenn Maratita winning the Sportsmanship Award.
