A total of 59 individuals availed of free haircuts last Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Garapan Central Park Round House.
The initiative, organized by the Bayani Association and the LGBTQ+ Hairdressers and Barbers of Saipan, also administered free blood pressure checks and blood sugar checks. They were also given a free hand sanitizers, courtesy of the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence.
“It was an overwhelming outcome event for the Bayani Association after the big success of the Queen of Drag 2022 pageant,” said association president Annamae Adaza.
She said many of those who availed of the free services are thankful to the Bayani Association for organizing this special project. “It was nice seeing a family of five availing of the free haircuts. At least they can save some money and the boys were happy with their haircuts,” she said.
Adaza also thanked Sunny Side Café, project coordinator Ernie Molina and the officers and members of the organization. “We are so grateful for the unwavering support of Saipan’s Hairdressers and Barbers: Patrick and Nestea of Jigz Barbershop & Beauty Salon, Cecile of Genoveva’s Hair Power, Aileen of BeYou Tiful Beauty Salon, Shine of Gene’s Barbershop, Rica and Pia of Mary’s Salon, Joanne of Creative Salon, Edwin of SaLyn’s Beauty Salon, Evelyn, Irma, and Eydie Uy of Makeover Salon.”
