5150 Taga Triathlon now accepting registrations
The Paupau 5150 Taga Triathlon, an Olympic-distance triathlon that aims to raise funds in preparation of the 2022 Pacific Mini Games, is now accepting registration for the May 29 event.
The event, set to raise funds to prepare CNMI triathletes as well as help in hosting the triathlon/aquathlon event for the 2022 Pacific Mini Games, will be held at Paupau Beach and will feature a 1.5-kilometer swim out and back, a 40-km bike from Paupau to Seafix and back and then from Banzai back to PauPau, and a 10-km run from Paupau to Banzai and back.
Interested participants can register in categories including individual male, individual female, and team relay men/women/mixed.
The event will be held on May 29 beginning 6am.
The Top 3 finishers with receive cash prizes while the top overall for each age group will receive medals. Everyone who conquers the course will earn finisher’s T-shirt.
Registration fee includes T-shirt and entrance to the awarding banquet that will be held at Kensington Hotel. Registration fee will continue to increase as the event draws nearer.
Currently, registration is set at $50 for individual and $150 for team relay. Starting April 10, registration will be $60 for individuals and $180 for team relay. On May 10, registration will increase to $70 for individuals, and $210 for team relay and on May 26, registration will be officially closed.
Paupau 5150 Taga Triathlon is being organized by Triathlon Association of the CNMI.
