Barbershop & Beauty Salon, which now has a full complement of barbers and hairdressers, is celebrating its 13th anniversary by offering 50% off on all services this Oct. 15. (CONTRIBUTED PHOTO)

Some say 13 is an unlucky number, but don’t tell that to Jigz Barbershop & Beauty Salon owner Jigg Hernando. On the occasion of the barbershop and beauty salon’s 13th anniversary last Oct. 5, 2022, Hernando is offering 50% off on all services on specific days. The promotion started last Saturday, Oct. 8, and will again be offered this coming Saturday, Oct. 15.

“This is our little way of showing our appreciation to our loyal customers these past 13 years,” said Hernando.

All of Jigz Barbershop & Beauty Salon’s services are covered by the 50% promotion and they include haircut, color/highlights, perm/hair spa, hair dye/hot oil, and rebond/Brazilian.

“This doesn’t happen often so everyone who wants to have a big discount on your beauty care needs, this is your chance,” said Hernando.

Jigz Barbershop & Beauty Salon also welcomes four new barbers and hairstylists. 

“Since we moved to this spacious location in Chalan Kanoa, why not maximize all the space by accommodating two new barbers and two new hairstylists. This will meet the needs of our valued clients’ demands,” said Hernando.

The four new staff are Beejay Abao Deniega, Adonis Bernales Vallejos, Michael Pascua Oliverio, and Welkie Lanoy.

Deniega, 23, hails from Las Pinas, Philippines. He’s had five years’ experience as a barber and his expertise include haircut, black mask, shaving and massage, and hair treatment

Thirty-one-year-old Vallejos is also from Las Pinas and has been working in the beauty care industry the past 12 years. His cup of tea is men’s haircut, shaving, black mask, massage, and hair treatment.

Oliverio, 35, is from Taguig and has 12 years’ experience working in a barbershop and beauty salon, while 44-year-old Lanoy has been an all-around beautician for the past 20 years. He is from Ubay, Bohol in the Philippines.

Jigz Barbershop first opened at the VS Sablan Building in Chalan Piao in 2009. It relocated to the CDA Building in Oleai a few years later before moving to its current home on the ground floor of the MSV Building near the U.S. Post Office along Beach Road in Chalan Kanoa.
