“Small Business Sunday” hosted by Tyler’s Gelatte Stone was back at the Sugar King Park in Garapan last Sunday, with nine local small businesses participating and live music provided by Larry and Kui Lee of Da Kine.

Tyler’s owner Ben Babauta Jr. said that last Sunday’s event was the fourth staging of the event and was the biggest so far.

A portion of the revenue made Sunday will be going toward the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence.

Participating vendors were Neni Girl Nails, Bonito Basula, Candle J Saipan, Hybrid Saipan, Chiku Chiku, Vivid Beauty, Pate Puffs & Pastries, Art Baloon 670, and Mix n’ Macs By Jam. Holding fundraisers on Sunday was NMCADSV and Mount Carmel School.

In a brief interview, Babauta said that turnout was good, seeing “a lot of participation” from the event’s visitors and vendors, and added that there were many pre-Christmas shopping deals. As for when the next “Small Business Sunday” will take place, Babauta said that further details are in the works.

Babauta thanked everyone for coming and Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang and his office for supporting the event and managing Sugar King Park.
