Tan Holdings will be holding its 4th Annual JP Walk this Saturday starting at the pavilion across the JP Center along Beach Road to Susupe Beach Park.
The three-mile walk and fundraiser is being held in memory of Tan Holdings former executive John “JP” Pangelinan.
“The company and myself have missed JP for the last four years. Each year I look forward to seeing his family, friends and the rest of the community come out and remember him by walking in his memory and supporting the fight against cancer,” stated Tan Holdings president and longtime friend of Pangelinan, Jerry Tan in an email on Monday.
Tan Holdings employees and their families are encouraged to participate, and the company will cover the $5 entrance fee for every employee that takes part in the event.
Proceeds will be donated to the Marianas March Against Cancer.
Registration starts at 5am and refreshments and entertainment will be provided at the end of the walk.
A frequent shuttle service will also be made available from Susupe back to Garapan all morning.
Pangelinan was a former publisher of the Saipan Tribune and was known for his humility, sense of humor, and compassion, which he used to instill fairness both in the workplace and in the media.
Pangelinan also upheld an admired reputation as a true-gentlemen that built connections with people of all statures. Born on Oct. 26, 1937, Pangelinan passed after enduring a long battle with cancer on Feb. 5, 2008.
Registration forms can be obtained through Becky Tenorio by emailing becky_tenorio@tanholdings.com; transactions can be completed at the Saipan Tribune, located on the second floor of JP Center, or visit the TSL Foundation in TSL Plaza.
