43 new cases; 7 hospitalized

Forty-three additional individuals have been confirmed positive for COVID-19, bringing the CNMI’s total to 10,777 cases since March 28, 2020.

Of the 43 cases identified on March 21, 2022, seven were reported on Tinian. The vaccination statuses of the 43 cases are pending verification.

Also, as of March 22, 2022, there were seven individuals hospitalized as a result of COVID-19.

Of the 10,777 total cases that have been identified in the CNMI, there have been 10,598 recoveries; 148 active cases; and 31 COVID-19-related deaths. Of these numbers, 9,998 were identified via community testing and 779 via travel testing.

A total of 44 COVID-19 vaccine shots were administered on March 22, 2022; of the eligible population, 59.3% have already received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-years-old and older population.

A total of 231 COVID-19 tests were conducted on March 21, 2022: 214 via Community-Based Testing; 15 at the Koblerville COVID-19 Community Center; and two at the Rota Health Center. (Saipan Tribune)
