40 complete ARC swim lessons

(Contributed Photo) Forty individuals finished the American Red Cross swim lessons conducted by Tsunami Swimming Center Saipan this month at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool.

Of the 40 participants, 28 got a Level 1 certification and six each were promoted to Level 2 and 3. The Level 1 certified swimmers were Claire Kautz, Evan James Mendiola, Seth Danielle and Shane Ada, Kristanna Lim, Megumi and Jhota Yoshino, Rentaro and Kana Suzuki, Aoi Iwasaki, Jack and Miles Linden, Natsuki and Kaisei Nagata, Sei Yu Jong, Na Hyun Kim, Clairke and Kyla Park, Isaiah Aleksenko, Gabrile Hochhalter, Ainah Chargualaf, Abigail Hamog, Hannah and Elisha Lacap, Rex Pixley, Mizuki Suzuki, Rafael Rusby, and Andrew Sablan.

Getting Level 2 certification were Mateo and Juan Guerrero, Jim Michael Ham, Domoinc Torres, Lucas Hochhalter, and Marcquin Stevenson. The Level 3 list had Jojette Agustin, Ernesto and Michael Hidalgo, Jacque Gordon, Juanita Fajardo, and Yulia Aleksenko.

Swimmers participated in a one-hour session for four Saturdays and learned from a pool of Tsunami Saipan swimmers and coaches, which include Hiro Kimura, Marystar Welch, Kaori Toda, Shigeki Tenorio, Marvin Lee, Midori Nishida, Kensuke Kimura, Daime Rivera, and Kaisei Toda. Tsunami Saipan president Stan Good was the swim course director, while Angel Tan, Angel De Jesus, Takumi Sugie, and Kaito Yanai served as assistant coaches.

Tsunami Saipan head coach Hiro Kimura said several swimmers who joined the four-week lessons will enroll in the club’s development course.

“Tsunami will keep training young kids to become good swimmers,” Kimura said.
