Four teams will vie for the championship in this Saturday’s NMIFA 5v5 Beach Soccer Tournament at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan sand court.

Independents Football Club leads the short list of participants in the weekend competition and will be joined by Kanoa FC, Matansa FC, and Tan Holdings FC. The four squads will play in a round-robin format with the team with the most points (based on each squad’s win-draw-loss record) winning the event.

Registration and event briefing will be held from 9am to 9:30am, while the first match will take place at 10am with Kanoa colliding against Independents FC. The second match between Matansa and Tan Holdings is set for 10:25pm.

Each game will be played in two seven-minute halves with a five-minute break in between matches.

Meanwhile, organizers of the other NMIFA-sanctioned tournament this Saturday—the Scramble 3v3 Tournament—is encouraging beginners to join the event at the Navy Hill Ballfield.

Sign up will start at 8am and drawing of squads will be done afterwards. Team will play in a round-robin format in the morning session, while elimination-round matches will be scheduled in the afternoon.

The tournament is open to players in the 18-and-above age group.
