A suspect in an “ice” trafficking case who is on house arrest was arrested again on Tuesday after he and three other persons allegedly beat up a man and assaulted the latter’s parents in Dandan last week.

The suspects-Don Pangelinan Sanchez Jr., 28; Kelvin Cabrera Sanchez, 23; John Carlo Guartiano Sanchez, 25; and Joaquin Vargas Sanchez, 20-were taken to the Superior Court yesterday morning on charges of riot, assault and battery, assault, and disturbing the peace.

Don Sanchez, who is on house arrest, was also charged with contempt of court.

A source said two of the suspects are siblings, while the rest are cousins.

Don Sanchez’s bail was set at $25,000 cash, while the rest were imposed P5,000 cash bail each.

Detective Raymond B. Borja stated in his report that the victims are Domingo Blas Cruz and his parents, George and Herminia.

Borja said two police officers responded to Magician Bay Avenue in Dandan on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1:42am after receiving a call about a disturbance.

Cruz told police that he and some friends were hanging out and eating soba at his niece’s house when Don Sanchez and the other suspects came and challenged them to a fight. John Sanchez was seen holding a machete.

Don Sanchez allegedly punched Cruz several times in the face. Kelvin Sanchez allegedly tackled Cruz to the ground and also repeatedly punched him.

John Sanchez allegedly pushed Herminia when she came over to help her son, causing her to fall to the ground. John Sanchez also allegedly pushed George twice when he tried to separate the suspects.

George said the suspects were all holding rocks, while Joaquin Sanchez was carrying a sword or machete. He said the suspects threatened to kill his son.

Last May, members of the CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force and detectives of the Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested five persons, including Don Sanchez, during “ice” operations in Dandan.
