The Superior Court has imposed a $3,000 cash bail on a man who allegedly threatened his wife, resisted arrest, and assaulted a police officer who was trying to arrest him.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $3,000 cash bail on Manuel Santos Aguon, 67, last Thursday during his bail hearing.

After the bail hearing, Aguon was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections.

Aguon was charged with assault, disturbing the peace, assault and battery, and resisting arrest.

According to court documents, Aguon had told his wife that he no longer wants to be with her and that he was moving out because he has already found a place to live. He then asked her for $200 to help him with the move but she told him that she would give him the money once he moves all his things out from her house on Navy Hill.

After Aguon moved all his things, he went to her workplace in San Antonio and received $200 from his wife.

Later in the evening, however, the victim said Aguon showed up at her place, asking to let him in but she refused and told him to “come back when you’re sober.”

Aguon then called her on her cellphone and said, “You want to die! You better not come outside! Watch it!” he said.

His wife told him to stop threatening her, adding that she would call the police but Aguon said he didn’t care.

When one of the responding police officers tried to arrest Aguon, he yanked his arm away and asked what he was being arrested for. The officer told Aguon that he was being arrested for disturbing the peace and assault, but Aguon refused to comply.

As the officers tried to put Aguon in the police vehicle, police said Aguon kicked one of the arresting officers in the face and on the right bicep.

Another police officer arrived and helped secure Aguon in the police vehicle.
