$391K for the Northern Islands mayor?

While the CNMI is trying to figure out where to find funds for CHC, PSS, CUC, and other bloated government agencies, the mayor of the almost uninhabited Northern Islands is asking for more than a quarter million dollars for employee salaries. What the heck is going on?

There are just a handful of people who choose to reside in the Northern Islands. The Northern Islands Mayor’s Office should be abolished because there is no money to fund it right now. If people choose to live in the Northern Islands, let them live like the ancient Chamorros did. Live off the ocean and land. Plenty of food there to survive on like ayuyu, fanihi, guihan, chiba, manuk, haggan, niyuk, etc. Abolish the Northern Islands Mayors Office. Abolish the Senate. Abolish municipal councils. Unless you want to keep wasting money.
