39 individuals participate IRS tax law enforcement sensitive training

Thirty-nine individuals participated in the U.S. Internal Revenue Service tax law enforcement sensitive training held on Friday at the U.S. Attorney’s Office at Horiguchi Building on Saipan.
According to Mae Blas, public information officer for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Districts of Guam and CNMI, the participants were from the Department of Public Safety, Department of Finance Customs, and Department of Labor investigation side.
During the all-day training, IRS agents discussed about money laundering, identity theft, tax fraud, among other topics.
Alicia A.G. Limtiaco, U.S. Attorney for the Districts of Guam and NMI, underscored the importance of the training designed to help investigators strengthen their cases.
Among the presenters at the training were IRS special agent in charge for Guam Teri Alexander, IRS Criminal Investigation Division special agent Todd Peterson, IRS Seattle Office special agent Ryan Thompson, and IRS Seattle Office in-house counsel Jean Song.
IRS is a highly specialized unit with over 2,600 special agents in the U.S. Two are in Guam.
IRS is crucial in providing assistance to local law enforcement partners, particularly the Revenue and Tax, in enforcing tax laws.
