SANTA RITA, Guam—U.S. Naval Base Guam will conduct a test of its emergency alert system on June 2, from 3pm to 4 p.m.

During the date and time indicated, the system commonly referred to as the Giant Voice will deliver the following message: “This is only a test for the emergency broadcasting system. No further action required.”

Starting June 2, Naval Base Guam is scheduled to conduct tests on the emergency alert system on the first Monday of every month until further notice.

The Giant Voice at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Guam, South Finegayan housing, Flag Circle, I Puntan at Nimitz Hill, North and South Tipalao, Camp Covington, Apra View, Navy Munitions Site, U.S. Coast Guard and Polaris Point will be activated.

Residents and patrons in the surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they hear increased activity associated with the test. (PR)
