The Guam Energy Office was awarded $213,233 in program funds for the 2019 Weatherization Assistance Program from the U.S. Department of Energy. In addition to this amount, $146,304 in funds from a previous program year was authorized for continued use through March 31, 2020.

The federally funded program helps reduce energy costs for low-income households by allowing them to replace refrigerators, window air conditioning units, light bulbs, and install smoke/carbon monoxide detectors.

Priority is given to the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and families with children. WAP services are free to households meeting criteria based on total household income and acceptable housing.

To qualify, the total household income shall not exceed the maximum income as stated at energy.guam.gov/programs-2. Or call GEO at 646-4361. (PR)
