Soroptimist International of the Northern Marianas is inviting the community to join the Soroptimist members as they celebrate women “Dancing in the Rain” and award the 2021 “Live Your Dream” winner on Oct. 16, 2021, 6pm, at the Marianas Lighthouse Restaurant. They are also celebrating their ninth charter celebration and the 100th anniversary of the Soroptimist Organization worldwide.
There will be food, refreshments, a guest speaker, and a silent auction. It will be a great night of celebrating the future of women in the CNMI. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at Natural Nail Spa or from any of the Soroptimist members.
The Live Your Dream Awards provide monetary assistance to women who are attending college or vocational training, are the primary source of financial support for their families, and have a dream to continually better their lives through education. (PR)
Water service interruption on Middle Road and in Gualo Rai
There will be a scheduled water service interruption on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, from 7:30am to 4:30pm for Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in the areas of Middle Road north of Chalan Monsignor Guerrero Road and south of Gualo Rai road.
RNV Construction, CUC’s contractor for the W-6 Sewer Lift Station elimination project, will be diverting the 16-inch waterline away from the installation of the new 10-inch gravity sewer line. Water services to affected areas will resume soon after.
In addition, CUC would like to inform the public that construction activities will continue to take place between the Chalan Kiya intersection and the intersection of Chalan Pale Arnold and Chalan Monsignor Guerrero Road. Given the amount of construction activity that is expected to take place in the area, motorists are advised to slow down near the project site and heed traffic control direction and devices. Proceed with caution when driving near and through the construction zone. Pedestrians are also asked to avoid walking through the project area and to find an alternative route.
CUC continues to work diligently to minimize any inconvenience to its customers. For more information, contact the CUC Hotline (236-4333) or monitor our Facebook page for the latest updates (https://www.facebook.com/CommonwealthUtilitiesCorporation). (PR)
