3 GCA students join Team CNMI for Math League

Three Grace Christian Academy students have earned slots on the CNMI team that will compete in the Math League national competition in Kansas, Missouri, on May 18, 2019.
Julie Quan, a 10th grade silver medalist in the High School Math Court, is one of the six students from different high schools who will compete in Kansas as part of Team CNMI.
Six alternates were also chosen for the CNMI team, including Seong Beom Kevin Song, an 11th grade silver medalist at the High School Math Court, and Jushua Qiu, 12th grade gold medalist.
Qiu competed last year as part of Team CNMI.
In addition, the GCA team results in the High School Math Court regional competition earned them a silver medal.
Other GCA winners include Joanah Jimenez, who also won gold medal in the 9th grade division.
GCA dominated the 12th grade division, with three winners: Qiu, gold medal; Chener Oscar Li, 4th place; and Tina Choi, in 5th place.
GCA Math Court coordinator Susan Pajarillaga thanked Glenn Keaton, GCA AP Physics and Calculus teacher, for his help in training the GCA Math Court competitors.
