Three brand new cars can be won as hole-in-one prizes in the 19th Tournament of Champions that will be held on Aug. 2 and 3 at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

Triple J Motors is donating a 2014 Hyundai Tucson GL, while Joeten Motors and Atkins Kroll will give away 2014 Ford Fiesta and 2014 Scion FRS, respectively, for the lucky hole-in-one winners. The contested holes will be announced later, but with the addition of the three brand new cars, the hole-in-one prizes now total to four, as Delta Air Lines has earlier announced it will give two business elite tickets (to anywhere in the U.S.).

Registration for the two-day competition is ongoing with entrance fee of only $185 for both days.

Besides the hole-one-prizes, golfers can win additional cash through the “chip for cash” contest which will be held before participants tee off on both days of the competition at the driving range. TOC will be giving away cash prizes for hole-in-one shots on 19 holes. There will be nine holes worth $50 each, $100 for six holes, $500 for three, and $1,000 for one. Golfers must buy a $1 ticket to participate in the “chip for cash” contest.

Around 200 golfers are expected to join next month’s events, which will have competitions in the Championship, A, B,C, Senior, Super Senior, and Ladies (low gross and low net) flights. The Top 3 finishers in each flight (except Ladies low net) will receive cash prizes with $500 going to the champions, $400 to the runner-ups, and $300 to the third placers. The fourth and fifth finishers will bring home digital cameras and gift certificates, respectively.

‘Head-to-Head Challenge’

Meanwhile, NIKEGOLF in cooperation with organizers of TOC will host the 2014 TOC Demo Days from July 31 to Aug. 1 at the driving range of LaoLao Bay Golf Resort.

Dubbed as the “Head-to-Head Challenge,” the event will feature Nike’s latest golf equipment, including the much improved VR_S Covert 2.0.

Partcicipants are welcome to bring their current equipment and compare their overall performance in terms of distance and accuracy against VR_S Covert 2.0.

“As in the previous years, NIKEGOLF is bringing in its full spectrum of hard goods for the CNMI golf community to try out,” NIKEGOLF representative to the CNMI John Botelho said.

“To measure distance and accuracy, I will bring with me the state-of-the-art BallFlight and Launch Monitor which will determine your ball speed and spin, launch angles, carry, and driving distances. We will also conduct personalized fittings to those interested,” Botelho added.

The event is free. (PR)
